Dear friends,

This community has been the heart of everything we do. Since Hurricane Isaias, we have had to make some difficult decisions about our restaurants.

We have made the difficult decision to close Seagrove Village Market Cafe and Watersound Village Market. Thursday, October 22, is the last day for both. Our family will use the time ahead to plan for what comes next.

Our doors at Surfing Deer are wide open, and we hope you’ll come on in. The storm left some damage to the outside of the building, and it’s being taken care of, but inside it’s business as usual with the same good food, the same friendly faces and plenty of room at the table. Gather up your people and come see us. Gift cards from any of our restaurants are welcome there for dining or merchandise.

To our dedicated staff, our loyal guests and our community, thank you. Your loyalty to every one of our restaurants has meant more to our family than we can say. Thank you for the meals, the memories and the countless celebrations you have shared with us. We couldn’t have done any of it without you.

This isn’t the end for the po’boys and Deep Fried Love that you have known for more than 75 years. Keep in touch by clicking the button below to sign up for our newsletter–so you’ll be the first to know when something new is cookin’. In the meantime, we hope you’ll come to see us at Surfing Deer.

We look forward to serving you and your families as we create more fabulous food and colorful stories for years to come.

With gratitude,

George and Ann Hartley
